bafe35df03 Move CHANWIDTH_* definitions from ieee80211_defs.h to defs.h
Move most of CHANWIDTH_* definitions from ieee80211_defs.h to defs.h as
the definitions are getting used mostly for internal purpose only. Also
change prefix of the definitions to CONF_OPER_CHWIDTH_* and update in
all the files accordingly.

Leave the couple of VHT-specific exceptions to use the old defines (the
reason why they were originally added as VHT values), to avoid use of
clearly marked configuration values in information elements. In
addition, use the defines instead of magic values where appropriate.

9c6b0a9416 hostapd: Disable VHT/HE when WMM is not enabled
When WMM is disabled, HT/VHT/HE capabilities should not be used for any
STA. If any STA advertises these capabilities, hostapd AP disables HT
capabilities in STA flags during STA assoc, but VHT/HE was not handled
similarly. This could allow a STA to associate in VHT/HE mode even in
WMM disable case.

To avoid this, disable VHT/HE capabilities similarly to HT during STA
association, if WMM is not enabled by the STA.

5d3c4496fb Make VHT Transmit Power Envelope element helper more generic
According to latest IEEE 802.11 standard, Transmit Power Envelope
element is also relevant to IEEE 802.11ax and is no longer called VHT
Transmit Power Envelope. Remove the VHT naming from the element and move
hostapd_eid_txpower_envelope() from ieee802_11_vht.c to ieee802_11.c in
preparation of using it with HE.

d51b1b7a66 Move hostapd_eid_wb_chsw_wrapper() to non-VHT-specific file
Move hostapd_eid_wb_chsw_wrapper() from VHT specific ieee802_11_vht.c to
ieee802_11.c since this can be used for both HE and VHT. This commit
does not change any functionality to enable the HE use case, i.e., the
function is just moved as-is.

088bef1786 AP: Restrict Vendor VHT to 2.4 GHz only
Vendor VHT IE is used only on the 2.4 GHz band. Restrict the use of

band.

5972dc73c1 mesh: Use correct rate in VHT and HT mixed environment
Let mesh STA A be a STA which has config disable_ht=0 and disable_vht=1.
Let mesh STA B be a STA which has config disable_ht=0 and disable_vht=0.
The mesh STA A and B was connected.

Previously, the mesh STA A sent frame with VHT rate even though its VHT
was disabled. This commit fixes the issue by checking the local BSS VHT
configuration.

fc72a48a63 hostapd: Use stations nsts capability in (Re)Association Response frame
Some deployed stations incorrectly consider nsts capability in
(Re)Association Response frame as required capability instead of maximum
capability and if it is greater than station's capability then beamform
will not happen in uplink traffic.

This commit adds support for an optional workaround to use station's
nsts capability in (Re)Association Response frame if the station's nsts
is less than AP by using the use_sta_nsts=1 configuration parameter.
This configuration is introduced in this commit and it is disabled by
default.

03a72eacda VHT: Add an interoperability workaround for 80+80 and 160 MHz channels
Number of deployed 80 MHz capable VHT stations that do not support 80+80
and 160 MHz bandwidths seem to misbehave when trying to connect to an AP
that advertises 80+80 or 160 MHz channel bandwidth in the VHT Operation
element. To avoid such issues with deployed devices, modify the design
based on newly proposed IEEE 802.11 standard changes.

This allows poorly implemented VHT 80 MHz stations to connect with the
AP in 80 MHz mode. 80+80 and 160 MHz capable stations need to support
the new workaround mechanism to allow full bandwidth to be used.
However, there are more or less no impacted station with 80+80/160
capability deployed.

e7d0e97bdb hostapd: Add vendor specific VHT extension for the 2.4 GHz band
This allows vendor specific information element to be used to advertise
support for VHT on 2.4 GHz band. In practice, this is used to enable use
of 256 QAM rates (VHT-MCS 8 and 9) on 2.4 GHz band.

This functionality is disabled by default, but can be enabled with
vendor_vht=1 parameter in hostapd.conf if the driver advertises support
for VHT on either 2.4 or 5 GHz bands.

35cbadbb14 VHT: Remove useless validation code from Operating Mode Notification
This was added by commit 8a45811638
('hostapd: Add Operating Mode Notification support'), but the validation
steps cannot be true either for the channel width (which is a two-bit
subfield that cannot encode more than the list four values) or Rx NSS
(which cannot encode a value larger 7). Furthermore, the VHT_CHANWIDTH_*
defines do not match the definition of the Channel Width subfield
values.

Since this check cannot ever match, it is better to remove it to make
the code easier to understand and to avoid getting complaints about dead
code from static analyzers.
