Extend 'struct wpa_driver_scan_params' to allow higher layer to indicate
if minimal probe request content should be included by the driver as part
of the scan logic.
Implement this with driver_nl80211, by setting
NL80211_SCAN_FLAG_MIN_PREQ_CONTENT.

Previously, NL_STOP was returned from the survey dump handler if the
maximum number of frequencies was reached for storing survey
information, but this is causing wpa_supplicant context getting stuck if
the current SKB returned by the kernel itself ends with NLMSG_DONE type
message. This is due to libnl immediately stopping processing the
current SKB upon receiving NL_STOP and not being able to process
NLMSG_DONE type message, and due to this wpa_supplicant's
finish_handler() not getting called. Fix this by returning NL_SKIP
instead while still ignoring all possible additional frequencies.

The current value of 50 is not sufficient for getting survey info for
all the frequencies when the 6 GHz band is enabled. Increase the limit
to 100 to be able to receive survey info for 6 GHz frequencies also.

With an MLD connection the BSSID reported in the association
event is the MLD AP address, while the association state reported
in the scan results relates to the MLD AP specific link. In such a
case do not disconnect.

The initial timeout of 10 seconds for the first scan before knowing
whether the driver reports scan completion events may not be sufficient
in cases where the driver ends up scanning a large number of channels.
In particular, this could be hit with 6 GHz support. Increase this
timeout when the driver indicates support for 6 GHz channels.

Set NL80211_SCAN_FLAG_COLOCATED_6GHZ in the scan parameters to enable
scanning for co-located APs discovered based on neighbor reports from
the 2.4/5 GHz bands when not scanning passively. Do so only when
collocated scanning is not disabled by higher layer logic.

It can be helpful to know whether the information elements from the
Beacon frame or the Probe Response frame are newer when using BSS table
entries, so make this information known, if available. This allows the
Beacon frame elements to be preferred over the Probe Response frame
elements when desired.

The nl_connect is initialized with the process_bss_event() handler.
However, it is used several times with the default valid handler. As a
result, if a message that is only valid for process_bss_event() is
received while the default handler is used, it will be dropped.
This has been observed in a case where during the 4-way handshake, a
Beacon frame is received on the AP side, which triggers a beacon update,
just before receiving the next EAPOL. When send_and_recv_msgs_owner() is
called for sending the NL80211_CMD_SET_BEACON command, the
NL80211_CMD_CONTROL_PORT_FRAME event is already pending. As a result, it
is received with the default handler, which drops it. Since the EAPOL
frame is dropped, the connection attempt fails.
Fix it by using the process_bss_event() handler when the nl_connect
handler is used.

This is a preliminary patch for using extack cookies for TX control port
handling. Custom ack handler arguments for send_and_recv() and friends
is introduced therefore. This commit does not actually use the provided
values, i.e., that will be added in a separate commit.

Linux bridging code does not allow a station mode WLAN interface in a
bridge and this prevents the AP mode scan workaround from working if the
AP interface is in a bridge and scanning can be only done by moving to
STA mode. Extend this workaround to remove the interface from the bridge
temporarily for the duration of the scan, i.e., for the same duration as
the interface needs to be moved into the station.

Use and/or set socker owner where necessary to allow EAPOL frames to be
received using the nl80211 control port. This is done when the driver
indicates support for the control port without previous hardcoded
reception of RSN preauth frames.
Use methods which set or use the connection owner nl_sock * where
necessary. Initial operations need to register with the SOCKET_OWNER
attribute set (e.g., connect for STA mode). Final operations need to use
the socket which holds the owner attribute (e.g., disconnect for STA
mode).

Netlink dump message may be interrupted if an internal inconsistency is
detected in the kernel code. This can happen, e.g., if a Beacon frame
from the current AP is received while NL80211_CMD_GET_SCAN is used to
fetch scan results. Previously, such cases would end up not reporting an
error and that could result in processing partial data.
Modify this by detecting this special interruption case and converting
it to an error. For the NL80211_CMD_GET_SCAN, try again up to 10 times
to get the full response. For other commands (which are not yet known to
fail in similar manner frequently), report an error to the caller.

When external authentication is used, a specific netlink socket is used
to send the connect command. If the same socket is not used for
disconnect command, cfg80211 will discard the command. This constraint
was added into the kernel in commit bad292973363 ("nl80211: Reject
disconnect commands except from conn_owner"). That requires an update
for the hostap.git commit 40a68f3384 ("nl80211: Create a netlink
socket handle for the Connect interface").
Add a new flag into struct i802_bss to indicate if the special
nl_connect socket was used for the connect command. When sending
disconnect command this flag is tested to select the correct socket.

The userspace may want to delay the the first scheduled scan.
This enhances sched_scan to add initial delay (in seconds) before
starting first scan cycle. The driver may optionally choose to
ignore this parameter and start immediately (or at any other time).
This uses NL80211_ATTR_SCHED_SCAN_DELAY to add this via user
global configurable option: sched_scan_start_delay.

If vendor_scan_cookie is set to 0 after the scan_abort due to the scan
timeout ends in a cookie mismatch when processing the following
QCA_NL80211_VENDOR_SUBCMD_SCAN_DONE indication. This ends up considering
the scan results as being for an external scan and thus the current
ongoing scan is not removed from the radio_work. Hence, do not reset
this vendor_scan_cookie after the scan abort so that the scan completion
event gets processed properly and vendor_scan_cookie gets cleared at
that point.

Do not use the generic bss_info_handler() design to fetch all scan
results into temporary memory buffer. Instead, use a separate BSS info
handler that fetches the requested information without fully parsing the
BSS entries and without allocating any memory for collecting all the
results.
This is also simplifying bss_info_handler() and nl80211_parse_bss_info()
design by getting rid of the special case that was used only for
nl80211_get_assoc_freq() and not normal scan result fetching.

The way the removal of duplicated (one per frequency) BSS entries in the
cfg80211 scan results were removed in driver_nl80211_scan.c
bss_info_handler() depended on having the full scan results available to
allow iteration through the other entries. This is problematic for the
goal of being able to optimize memory allocations for scan result
fetching in a manner that would not build the full result buffer in
memory.
Move this duplicate removal into bss.c since it has sufficient
information available for doing the same determination of which one of
two BSS entries is more current.

This untangles the NL80211_CMD_GET_SURVEY handler loop from
NL80211_CMD_GET_SCAN processing so that the per-channel noise
information can be fetched with a common function to a local data
structure that can then be easily used to update individual scan results
(a single BSS) instead of having to go through a full set of scan
results. This is a step towards optimizing scan result fetching without
having to allocate memory for all entries at the same time.

This makes wpa_supplicant set default scan IEs to the driver (if the
vendor command is supported). The driver can use these IEs in the scan
requests initiated by the driver itself. Also the driver can merge these
IEs into further scan requests that it receives, in case if the scan
request doesn't carry any of the IEs sent in this command.

Currently, when scan is stuck in the kernel/driver/fw,
the nl80211 driver tries to recover by faking a SCAN_RESULTS flow.
However, the scan is still stuck in the kernel/driver/fw.
To avoid that stuck request, abort it upon scan timeout.

Add 'scan plans' to driver scan parameters for scheduled scan.
Each 'scan plan' specifies the number of iterations to run the scan
request and the interval between iterations. When a scan plan
finishes (i.e., it was run for the specified number of iterations),
the next scan plan is executed. The last scan plan will run
infinitely.
The maximum number of supported scan plans, the maximum number of
iterations for a single scan plan and the maximum scan interval
are advertised by the driver.

Reorder terms in a way that no invalid pointers are generated with
pos+len operations. end-pos is always defined (with a valid pos pointer)
while pos+len could end up pointing beyond the end pointer which would
be undefined behavior.

Allow wpa_supplicant to use vendor scan (if supported by the driver)
together with the normal nl80211 scan and handling external scan events.
Since this results in possibility of concurrent scan operations, some of
the operations related to scan results need to check more carefully when
an event is relevant for a specific interface.

cfg80211 sends TSF information with the attribute NL80211_BSS_BEACON_TSF
if the scan results include information from Beacon frame. Probe
Response frame information is included in NL80211_BSS_TSF. If the device
receives only Beacon frames, NL80211_BSS_TSF might not carry updated
TSF, which results an older TSF being used in wpa_supplicant. Fetch both
possible TSF values (if available) and choose the latest TSF for the BSS
entry.

If a second scan trigger attempt fails in STA mode, the error path was
supposed to restore the old mode that was in use before changing to STA
mode. However, wpa_driver_nl80211_set_mode() changes drv->nlmode on
success, so the recovery path needs to use the saved old_mode value
instead.

cfg80211 dropped support for tracking BSS authentication state and
setting NL80211_BSS_STATUS_AUTHENTICATED in 'cfg80211: stop tracking
authenticated state' three years ago (starting in Linux 3.4). As such,
this workaround code in wpa_supplicant cannot be reached anymore. There
is no real need for maintaining it for older kernels either, since there
are other ways of detecting and working around state mismatches with the
actual authentication operations failing.
